MTV has announced an October 13 premiere date for its filmed version of Legally Blonde. The TV special, which will include a "Pink Carpet" extravaganza hosted by Lauren Conrad, Audrina Patridge and Whitney Port of The Hills, will air on Saturday afternoon at 1pm ET/PT. No word was given about plans for any subsequent showings on the network. Legally Blonde was filmed on September 18 at the Palace Theatre, where the show opened on April 29 and continues its open-ended run.
Legally Blonde follows sorority star Elle Woods, who doesn't take "no" for an answer. So when her boyfriend dumps her for someone more "serious," Elle puts down the credit card, hits the books and sets out to go where no Delta Nu has gone before: Harvard Law. Along the way, Elle proves that being true to yourself never goes out of style.
The show's director/choreographer, Jerry Mitchell, served as a creative consultant for the MTV special, which was produced by Frank Garritano and executive produced by Tony DiBari, Tim Healy, David George and George McTeague. Beth McCarthy-Miller is director.
